Default Scissors

I am looking at buying a Dr. Slick Scissor gift set, They have Prism, Bent Shaft, Tungsten Carbide, Gold loop and micro tip sets. Each one contains 3 scissors, all different lengths and arrow, all purpose, and hair scissors.
Which one would be the best bet for me to buy? I have only ever used a pair of gold loop scissors, so don't know much about them. I would particulary like to know the benifits of tungsten carbide or bent shaft scissors and if anyone owns any of the scissors mentioned...

Thanks for looking, any help appreciated

Best Regards

You only need one pair of scissors in fly tying James, you can break wire etc with your fingers or just get a really cheap pair of scissors for cutting wire then you can get a pair of...............

These

Rebus scissors made in switzerland. I have a pair and intend to make them last the rest of my life, mind you at the price they better had, I think around £35 (but I won mine in the LTC auction and paid around £24). So sweeten grandma up for xmas and drop a few hints. But really there are some pretty decent scissors out there for a few quid that'll do a decent job.

Thanks wingman, much appreciated your scissors look great! I have never seen any pair of scissors with blades as thin as that will definately be looking at a pair of those

Does Rebus have a website, I can't find anywhere that sells the scissors or any other tools...if so, please could you send me a link??

Thanks again and Best Regards

Alright thanks wingman, Rebus,Rubis, meh! easily done, I have to look at those two words more than once to notice the full difference, but just look at the time

I have just found the website, I am slightly put off by the fact that they are not designed for fly tying, but they still look very good, and great quality.

Hi james, the ones Mark, wingman are on about are great, I had them in my possession for a while before listing them on the LTC auction.
If you don't fancy spending that much, look for Prym 10cm embroidery scissors, they are Japanese steel, have fine points and I love mine.
They are abut £13.99 in a good sewing shop, I got mine new from ebay, but I have checked with the seller for you, and she has none in stock at the moment.
They were £5.99 and free postage, and incredible VFM, honestly.
If you have time, take a look through my posts, a few months back I put a link up to them with the ebay link.
You could contact the seller, she is very helpful, and may get you some in.
Good luck with the tying.
Steven.

Thanks, they look good, but I will say I don't really like that style of grip, but a very minor problem

They are very comfortable in the hand, and razor sharp right to the tip, trust me.
A few on here recommended them to me, and they are pro tyers.
