Default Lures

I have been to another of my fly tying classes with the fly dressers guild, This time the focus being on lures.

We tied a black chenille lure, and a Squirrel tail and silver....

Hope you like them, what are your thoughts, some improvements but they're good for the style of tying (that I'm not really used to).

Nowt wrong with them cracking flies, make sure you tied the wing on the squirrel tail securely as it might pull out

Thanks flytyingguy, the squirrel tail is tied in securely, but I would still like to find a way to make it stronger.

Pinch and loop it 3 times, do a turn o thread then suerglue over the squirrel tail end and run your thread down

Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it and I'm glad you like them I'll have to save up and buy some more materials so that I can practice these and the flies I have already tied. Also to be able to tie a wider range of flies

Thanks for the tip, will be trying that next time I tie a fly with a hair wing, or using a similar technique

Now, tie 6 of the same pattern and if you cant tell the first one from the last one then you have nailed it.

It's a good way of telling if you can tye them correctly each time, but I'm afraid Scratch has a point
