Never actually used it myself, but I think it is worth it. Funky Fly Tying has a good range of bug Bond.

BUG-BOND :: Funky Fly Tying

You will still need opinions of other people though

I'll second Funky Fly Tying. It's where I got mine from and it is good stuff. There are cheaper on the market if you know what to look for. Wouldn't know if it was any better.

Once you've got the torch and the professional tips all you need to replace is the bug bond after that. If you don't mind waiting for superglue and epoxy to dry/cure then don't get bug bond but I guarantee if you do get it you'll never go back.

This has made me think of a great idea. Shops should have a trial in store. Allowing customers to try it cause if someone has doubts like yourself but you had the opportunity of trying it 1st in store, it would help make your mind up quite easily.

There are cheaper alternatives available from Deer Creek on ebay.Just go on the fly tying tools and materials section and type in uv resin.I only have experience with bug bond and Ithink its excellent.The pro tip kit makes using it much easier as well.

Bug Bond is not UV as far as I know, but it gives a great finish on any fly, and is not tacky at all, and i think it is flexible aswell? (someone may need to correct me on that)
buzzers are one of the flies to finish with Bug Bond, have a look at some of the buzzers tied by Davie McPhail on Youtube

It cures under UV light, drying in 15 - 20 seconds. It's not a UV varnish.

I have to be honest, I don't have a lot of money but out of all the fly tying tools and materials I have ever bought this has to be the one I've not sat for days regretting it and wish I hadn't bought it cause I couldn't really afford it.
