well ive had another fly published in troutfisherman
its the olive mutant damsel


i dont think ther mags to pleased with it as it don't look like a damsel (so they say) but the word mutant is a bit of a clue that it aint .
so 3 out of 3 so far .
think i might be starting to annoy a few fly tyers so i might stop sending them in . then again ..............na i wont .

The daft thing is if you'd just called it an Olive Mutant, without "Damsel" on the end, nobody would grumble! (well some might, there's always some....)

oh the fly was sent in 3-4 months ago so maybe there scrapping the barrel so to speak .

Your flies aren't for me but if they work for you fair play.
I was a bit bemused by Barry Unwin's comment on another fly in the mag regarding the Hare's ear shrimp where he summed it up in one word ''plagiarism'' where as I thought that was what fulling mill had been doing for years or are all their flies so different to what people have tied before.

There is a nice article with our own Arkle this month in which Im trying to suss out what he is tying but cant.
