How confident are you that the dressing will not sink under the weight of the hook? My type of dry though - sparse and sexy!

Superb, the master of river flies mate, i'd prefer 1 or 2 extra plumes on the wing, what hook are they, hanak?

Because I use this fly and I know how it's working. This model, tied very sparse with very long tail, it's excellent in October and November on river San (it is slow and very slow running water)
I make this fly on size between 16 and 20- one CDC feather.
For fast running waters I use only one CDc feather for flies tied on hooks #18 and #20 and two feathers for size #16 and #14.
all the best
Lucian

You can use two feathers for size #16 and #14. But I prefer to use only one and sometimes one and half. Too much CDC for this type of fly ( almost no body fly ) and the fly will catch only trout and the grayling will stay away..

The hook is Daiichi D910 and is similar with C13 from Kamakatsu.

cheers
