Default How do you strip

Thought that might get you attention !
How do you strip the flue from a peacock herl.
Ive watched Davie McPhail on utube. I even spoke to the seller after meeting him at the game fair, who showed me how to give it slavers (saliva)then scrape it off with your nail, neither of them of them work for me .

I always use a rubber, but I have found that it never comes off if you scrape it the same way it is laying, if you rub it against the way that it is laying it comes off quite quickly. The direction in which it is laying is always facing towards the end of the herl.

May still be easier to buy them pre-stripped though!

Hope this helps, sorry if it is a bit confusing

Diluted bleach and a dipping jar. Do a whole peacock eye or three at a time. Requires concentration but works very well. Forget the rubber.
