Don't be shy to post your successful flies. I have more I am willing to share when I work out how to insert more than two photos from my gallery.
The information may prove useful to anyone visiting your local fisheries. There have been a number of posts asking for flies that work in Scottish lochs. These flies have worked for me fishing for wild brown trout here in Shetland.

A Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear with a copper bead on a size 14 grub hook has transformed my river and small stream fishing this season. I have caught wild Brownies to 2lb, Grayling to 1 & 1/2 lb, a 2lb Chub and too many Salmon Parr with it. Gold heads also work but somehow copper works better.

Thanks for that SharkeyP. There are no rivers where I fish but check out my Beadhead Cased Caddis which is useful at the begining of the season. I know the actual live beast has no tail but a tail seems to balance the fly better. I also believe the colour of tying thread I have used has made a difference.
Probably does not mean much but it improves my confidence.Click the image to open in full size.
I will try a gold rib similar to yours next season.

This was the most deadliest thing I fished this year, in rivers that is, seemed to get takes even before the thing hit the water and the harder I banged it down to make a nice plop the more effective it was, that is until I lost it up a willow tree so will have to make some more in various sizes.

And my most successful dry, this high-sight parachute adams, just proves the scruffier the better.
