Default Saddle cape hair extensions craze dying down?

I noticed that a couple of metz saddles on ebay tonight only made around £30. Lets hope its a sign that things are settling down. A silver badger metz full saddle went for £27 and a brown metz went for just over £30.

Yes indeed, ordering Hebert-Miner capes from Whiting via my local fly shop in San Diego and they show up in 2 days now. The insanity must be over.

The crazy prices seems to be over in the states, but the fly shops still have no/low stock and high prices. Walmart and other discount stores are selling feather clip-ons for the fashion conscious.
I did see some Indian necks brightly dyes and being sold as "feather bombs" on ebay....

Is this an American thing?

I've never seen anyone with bits of feathers
in their hair?

surely the feathers would look much nicer on a few flies. And they definately go to a better use...catching a lovely trout...

And what happens after the craze ends, thousands of people will just decide to throw away all of these feathers! and most of them will probably be unused
