Default Well its Autumn so it has to be....

Just recieved some size 10 hooks so i'm still getting used to the shift in proportions from tying on size 12's most of the time, going through a dabblerish phase at the minute although this is obviously no dabbler but is dabbler inspired.


Norman's conkerer

Thread - black
Tail - hot orange GP tippets
Body - fiery brown seals fur (with thicker look to body)
Rib - gold oval widely spaced
Palmered hackles - grey and ginger saddle hackles wound together
Neck hackle - furnace
Cheeks - JC splits
Cloaked witb bronze mallard (lighter coloured)

Hot orange to bronze mallard - brilliant tie and this fly should work! How did the fishing in Scotland go?
