Default Bought some hooks today

Don't suppose I really need them yet but am at the moment favouring a few Partridge types.

So I'd like to favour the order - about 150 hooks in total in different sizes - to a smaller retailer if possible whilst still looking to go to one retailer to keep the postage costs down although not minding a small premium in price.

Bleeding near on impossible for the smaller trader to supply all 150 hooks on the sites I visited.

Anyone have similar difficulties?

Appreciate that the commercial tyers will be seeking larger deals.

Loopy,

Please don't blame the retailers - Partridge hook stocks are VERY thin on the ground - for example, there have been NO stock in either the UK or Europe of klinkhamer hooks since March this year. (unless you want size 8!)

Partridge seem to be in a real mess ... but there are many other hooks around as good as if not better.

I personally took delivery today of 6,000 Grip hooks from South Africa, and I hold at least 3,000 Dohiku hooks in stock.

Flytying Boutique - for unusual and interesting materials

So why not give other brands a try?

Kind regards

I agree with Phil on this one because I use both Grip and Dohiku hooks and they are excellent.

I am sure Phil will forgive me for representing my own interests and not leaving it to someone as partial as himself to sell his own hooks! After all retailers on forums do that!!
When we bought Partridge in 2009 we bought all of the stock into England and started the review of patterns and the update of the brand - to that end we have mad most of the material with micro-barbs and have added quite a few new patterns to the range (the Classic Spider was one of them!! BTW we received 50,000 of each size 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 - total 250,000 hooks).
We still source many of our patterns on our own hook forms from Mustad and they had some big issues earlier in the year as they changed the management information systems and effectively stopped production for 4 months. Their start-up meant that many of our orders were in the log jam - however I am pleased to announce that from July we have been receiving regular shipments and forgive me again Phil - we have received close to 2 million hooks into stock, but guess what, they keep selling out because they still seem to be popular despite the opportunists amongst us.
I was at the Burton Show last weekend showing our new patterns including small sized Bombers, Classic Spiders and the Universal Predators.
Phil doesn't stock Partridge Hooks and I dont think he ever did but you can buy from Norris, Lakeland, Glasgow and a host of others that HAVE taken delivery.
Mark

PS. the Spiders are being packed at the moment in England and have been offered to the retail. This weekend is the Tackle and Guns Show so shipments will hot up. Please call me at the office if you need to know what's happening

Ah, glad a Partidge person is on here, perhaps they can explain the 3 dud eyes in 2 packs of recently purchased SLDs (two open, one had no eye at all); they're nice hooks but receiving 3 duds out of 50 is a tad grating, how is that happening?

Happy to supply name and address and a pic' of the hooks if you PM me.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Not sure what happened splash ... would be interested to see, but whatever happened we will replace them of course. We will be brining out an entire series of barbless in different wire weights in the new season. We will also be revising the numbering / sizing of CZ, CZF, and all of the Klinkhamers paving the way to introduce smaller sizes all down to real size 20.

Thanks for the response Mark and the PM; very good of you to offer to rectify things.

I'm sure with good customer service and concerned individuals involved we can all accept the odd niggle; one issue that comes up time and time again on here is communication and being available to resolve a gripe and you've dialled that straight away so credit to you.

I wish you all the best with taking things forwards in the future.
