Not a bad attempt, it is onl my second ever fly using a wing post, please tell me anything I could change, as I still need to improve my tying of these flies...

You've got the plot...body could be slimmer and so to the thorax area. Rem the idea is the body sinks enticingly and the hackle keeps it in position. Try a slim downed version. Good effort though

Chris.

you might need to go a little further round the hook bend but apart from that it aint bad,it will catch fish.

Sorry James the proportions are all wrong. Get one of Dave McPhails video clips up on SBS tying of a Klinkhammer. He makes it look easy but he's easy to follow.

Not a bad first attempt

As the 2 previous posts. What hook have you used? A designated klink hook would be better as it keeps the hackle on a flat plain with the wing post upright allowing the body to hang down.

The only thing wrong with that fly is the thickness of the body. O.K. maybe the hackle is a bit lob sided. Otherwise, well done!

The hook I am using is just a kamasan B110 I know it's pretty much completely the wrong type of hook, it is thick wire, doesn't make the hackle sit right e.t.c. but the B110's are ok for practice, and this is definately what I need.

I will try to buy some klinkhammer hooks, and when I can i will post another picture of my next attempt, using all of the info on here!

Thanks James

B110 are probably to heavy, you would have been better with a B100, or better yet a proper klinky hook.
As already stated slim it right down.

Thanks Graham, didn't think to look for a klinkhammer on the forum I have found the klinkhammer Extreme hooks by Partridge, those are the ones I will probably go for.

Thanks again, James
