Question Philip White Stonefly Pattern

Has anyone got a piccie or a pattern for "Philip White's Stonefly", which I understand is a Needle Fly imitation ( maybe it is a general stonefly pattern ?) -or even an alternative Needle Fly pattern ? I have searched the Internet and only come up with THIS ( may be the White pattern as the author says he was shown the pattern by Philip). Looks like a biot feather and CDC to me.

Lots of positive comments and references on here and elsewhere about this fly but so little info ! I had a lot of Needle flies right at the back end of the season on the Aberdeenshire river Don. The fish were gobbling down DHE's thrown at them but next season I'd like to try the dry Needles ( I know about the wet N.C Spider imitations) !

Cheers for any help on this,

Lindsay

That picture is it. The wing is a biot trimmed after being tied flat over a lightly dubbed body with a few turns of hackle. The biot is tied in at the beginning pointing out over the hook eye with the concave face uppermost. When it is folded over at the end and tied in it ends up with the convex side uppermost. The hackle is trimmed off underneath to make the fly sit flat to the surface.

It's a fine fly and works well. I've used it for three years now with Canada Goose biot (natural undyed) for the wing to hint at needle flies and even little ones for the willow fly.
