Default Tulip top buzzer

I was playing around with my bug-bond doing some bass flies when i had an idea using 1 of the eyes i was using, how to suspend a buzzer a 1 1/2 " under the surface.

I have been using them for a few years ,they work well, but the downside is that they are not very aerodynamic, and can cause the leader to spin up.

Wonder whether the spinning is caused because the eye of the hook is effectively in the middle of the fly? If so I'm sure it would be possible to make the detached foam part have an eye too by cutting of the bend of a light wire hook and tying the foam around that (would have to make the connection with the other hook very robust, doubling over the mono at least). I think this would lead to less spinning and better turnover of the fly.

There is a lot of originality in that fly and you should be commended.

There are some similarities with Sawyer's Bow tye buzzer.

Well done in any case.

For a similar presentation, I've used with deadly effect on occasions, a ginked up shipmans buzzer in place of your foam with an epoxy buzzer tied to the bend of the shipmans dangling 2 to 3 inches below. I've had takes on both the shipmans and the dangling epoxy and twice I've had a fish take both at the same time.
