Default Vaniards fur smells

Today I went out and bought some tools/materials, one of the materials being a veniards hares mask, opened it up as I wanted to tie some flies and it REEKS! Like dead animal sort of smell, but slightly different, still made me feel ill though, is there any way of getting rid of it?
Thanks, James

well, yeah but I would have thought it would be treated or something to make it not smell, even the fur that I cut off it smells, because I did not want to keep opening the packet with the whole mask.
should I seriously take it back?

It was only a joke James
But it shouldnt be smelling that bad, might not have been treated properly, and yes take it back,or contact Veniards direct.

Never had that problem and usually with Veniards stuff you are just about knocked out with the smell of napthelene.

I have a veniards hares mask and it's the same, it stinks! I try not to use it anymore and have just bought hares dubbing instead because I can't stand the smell.

mine stinks too but doesn't smell of dead animal to me. I assume its the treatment that accounts for the smell.

I think it is a treatment smell , I wonder how may 'Veniard Sniffers' there are on the forum?

Cheers
Spencer
