Default couple for waves

These from my new desk, fully dressed dabbler and a muddler to make some surface disturbance or drag through a wave. These are made to fish with not for show so dont be to hard on the finish.

not bad mate they just lack a bit of finesse! i think just about all flies posted on here are tied as fishing flies and not show flies.

I don't understand that comment

All flies on here are tied to be fished with, it's just that some here are better than others at tying them. I don't include myself in that bracket, and I certainly wouldn't have a back-handed pop at those who go to the time and effort of showing excellent tying skills and who are only too willing to help those who ask for it.
They are only "show flies" in the eyes of those of us who aspire to be able to tie a fly of the calibre posted by the likes of Rob, Mark, Andrew, Wee Jimmy, fortbhoy to name but a few, but I can assure you, they are tied to be fished with!

You are kidding! Some of the flies I've seen on here of late, particulaly winged wets...had me thinking it's a waste to fish with that fly, it's a work of art, should be in a picture frame! You've just missed those flies..... I like to see the both! Flies of the craft and those that ooze fish appeal. To be honest, I've seen flies that fall into both categories. A choice I wouldn't like to make...trouts teeth or picture frame

My comment wasn't having a pop at anyone except myself for being a bit lazy to tie a textbook head and remove loose fibers from such, but when your tying 8 or so for your own use you sometimes omit the finer details.
I would never pick fault with others tyings good bad or indifferent.
I'm a fisherman not a critic.

Yes it was trimmed back on purpose I find the fly sits straighter in/on the water this way.
I went bass fishing @ Mawgan porth tonight and when back at the car I thought I would give it a try across the river where it took 2 small brownies, not much fight on a 8# rod with 15lb line but I was just curios about the fly.
Not that I gained much info as the trout there will go for anything.
