Default Dubbing Materials/hoarders

Dubbing material has to the biggest waste of fly tyers cash ever...what percentage of dubbing materials could you easily part with without getting the "maybe I should have hung on to that shade/sparkle"

I know it's really difficult, but if you really had to keep what you think you would actually use, what percentage do you think you could actually let go off.....I know it's difficult for you but if you had to???

I only really have a dispencer with 12 different shades of hare in it and about 6 small packets of seals fur that Chris Reeves very kindly sent me ages ago and I still have a good bit left and that's basically all I have dubbing wise well apart from a moleskin and waterrat skin which were a few quid and a small packet of hare icedub, oh and a dryfly dubbing dispencer with 12 shades..

Precisely....I am not even going to count tonight! It's been yrs since I used a lite-brite dubbing, even as an enhancer.

Now here's the thing, I bought a mixed bag of antron in about 4 shades fom Steve Parton around 15yr ago, around 7yr after that, roughly, I discovered that one of the shades a clarety dark brown colour was much loved by the trout. Now I'm thinking that in the rest of the collection there's another dubbing that I can't live without. Therefore I must hang on to it...its a reason

I to have boxes of dubbing and loads of skins and masks. I love it all
For years I used it straight from the pack but now I pretty much blend at least 3 materials with each mix.
We all have far to much gear and I am pretty sure if I never bought another material, and tied flies till the day I die, I will never use it all up.
Might run out of hooks but that is another story.

I find the stuff stuffed into a dispenser to generally be utter cr&p. Superfine dubbing dispenser packs are the worst. It's as if the person filling the dispenser has done their utmost to knot the stuff together into little clumps. Full packs for me all the way.
