Default Swap Time - Grayling Flies

Autumn / Winter River Flies Swap (with one fly donated to charity for auction in Mr T's 'Let's Tackle Cancer' series) - Grayling Flies.

Start date 22nd September 2011 - end date 22nd October 2011.
Level loosely described as intermediate, quality being the main aim.
11 participant flies and 2 for charity = 13 flies total from each participant.
Chosen pattern to be confirmed over the next week or so.

The Tyers:

01. splashtestdummy – Olive Dropper Nymph - Complete 05.10.11
02. danielp - CDC Emerger - had to withdraw
03. Sharkey P - GRHE 'Ice Dub' - Received 01.10.11
04. blithfield2 - 'La Peute' - Received 14.10.11
05. kjenkins - Sisák Jig - Received 30.09.2011
06. welshflyfisher - Pink Tungsten HEN - Received 30.09.2011
07. craigie - Quill Bodied Nymph - Received 13.10.11
08. marks - Copper John Variant - Received 30.09.2011
09. Buzz - Grayling - 'Google Eyes' - Received 20.10.11
10. captainpurple - Red Tag - Received 05.10.2011
11. squeeks - Sturdy's Fancy - Received 18.10.2011
12. flytier07 - Czech Nymph - Received 10.11.11
13. One for LTC Auction

Flies to be received here in sunny Gloucestershire by end date (so get them posted a few days before); I will aim to photograph and post on the forum / return in the Royal Mail asap.

I'll PM the postal address out later by request ... as ever, any questions / issues then please PM me.

The small print: please enclose return address / SAE label and return postage (I have plenty of jiffy bags to get rid of, so no need for return envelope). From experience with previous swaps, it's good to include a small but well proportioned plastic hook box for safe delivery and return of flies (I'll return what is sent to me, bear in mind that the packages might get rolled through all sorts of machinery in a central sorting depot and the box shouldn't be too deep as it will accrue extra charges from Royal Mail).

Sounds good, count me in. Will tie some form of CDC emerger, lovely to get those ladies off the top when they rise on an ice cold day!

Hi STD,
I think I can find time in my empty schedule to tie a dozen of my Gold Ribbed Hare'e Ice Dub Nymphs (could do with a catchier name, even the acronym is clunky!). One caught my first small stream Grayling earlier this week so that's the main thing sorted!

I'm hoping to do a bit more bugging this Winter so I'll need all the ammunition I can get.

Count me in please!

SharkeyP
