Default how do you dry skin out

i just had a section of wild bore skin but havnt got a clue how to dry it out and it smells quite bad

Any suggestions?

Curing Small Animal Pelts, Squirrels Rabbits etc..

hi there i always scrap all the fats off it and then cut the edges off were there are any fats left that you cant scrap off then i put it in the washing machine with a big size of "bio" washing liquid and put it in a cool wash it is then cured. then nail it to a board at one end of the skin and strech it a bit then nail it at that end and leave for a week then hair dry it if needed

As well as what Phil said, rub some borax powder well into the skin as it helps it dry & slightly sanitizes it.

mix salt alum and borax together equel amounts and rub into skin i have done from squirrel to deer with this mix it makes a nice pliable skin.
