Default Bloodworm in weed

This is the first time posting up a step by step and the pics are with my phone so please be kind

When fishing Wansford I noticed the fish having a go at the bits of green weed that rise to the surface due to natural gases (?) and know that bloodworms are high on the menu there so came up with this tying.

Hook: 10 or 12
Thread: Red
Wings: Green marabou

Run the thread down to the bend of the hook.

Tie in the first "wing" of green marabou the wrong way round with the butt sticking out slightly.

Run the thread back towards the eye.

Next tie in the other "wing" the opposite way round.

And then tie off and varnish where you finished.

I've pulled back the wings to let you see the tying of the thread.

I need to invest in a decent camera with very good close-up lens

Interesting concept let us know if it works
Ugly looking thing but if it catches fish who cares.

Yes it's not the best looking fly but it does catch. On the drop with the occasional slow draw to move the marabou.

Variant looks good. I'll tie a couple of those for this weekend.

Reminds me of a Bev Perkins pattern developed for exactly the same scenario,
Size 12 hook
Head hackle Green Ostrich Herl,
Body Red Floss,
Tail Hackle Green onstrich herl.

I believe it may have been called the Green Pea

Cheers
