Default Sooty claret

But what about sweep and sue I here you ask Been messing about with a few different colour schemes lately, some not bad, some bad, but this I thought looked quite good. The mallard i'm useing is rather scubby now but I just about get away with this, although I have some new mallard on order. I went for a slightly longer tail and hackle with a shorter wing, the wing being darker I didn't want it to dominate too much....yeah they all say that. Tied on a kamasan B175 size 12.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome

Lovely tying, but I would miss the natural glistening of seal's fur. I nearly bought a Jackdaw skin today. I wish I had now as I've never used it before, but it looks good.

Thanks dabhoy, yeah thought I'd get pulled up on the long tail, I nearly went for GP tippets and think it would have been a better choice....short ones that is.

Thanks gander, that also would have been a good move, so will probably tie it again to see the difference. i got my jackdaw neck from steve at cookshill, one will last a lifetime, excellent quality.mind you takes a bit of getting used to handling the hackles at first but worth it

Thanks everyone for your feedback, it was mainly the colour combination I was playing around with which I think could be quite effective wih a bit of tweaking here and there.
