Default Grayling bugs, part 2

Been messing with some other bugs and I thought I would post this one. A really heavy weight. Size 8 with 3 layers of lead wire.
Should work well as a sacrificial fly.
More to follow. Flies will be getting smaller and lighter.

Like that, what is the fritzy stuff?

I am always amazed at how small a grayling can take a massive fly!

You been pinching the wifes ribbon Graham
Regarding the lead could you not just place it on top of the hook that way it will fish point up and no need for the sacrifice.

Your right about the point up. Practice makes perfect and as I get used to judging the current speed I have less hook up on the bottom.
Been experimenting with one of the Mustad fly clips for a quick change of fly to get the weight just right.

Thanks guys.
Slowly building a box of grayling flies.
Pretty much got the big heavy stuff covered. Just working away on the lighter, smaller stuff and some dries.
