Default It's been a while so ....

Right its been a looong time since I have tied a fly for various reasons what with a case of the shakes and most of my fishing these last months has been throwing fluff at Pike .

So anyway with all these winged jobbies flying about on here I thought of doing something with a paired wing but I don't like trad wets so came up with this wee beastie . No real thought behind it was just something very random I cobbled together to see if I could still tie anything that half resembled a fish catching item....

New picture added as has been "debate" over the colour

Click the image to open in full size.

Might even give it a swim soon

Dressing as requested ...

Couldn't really explain why, as for me it's one of those patterns that would only get fished when I don't know what the fookin Nora to put on next. A 'luxury', or 'super-sub' fly...... but it's got me slobbering down me chin and all over me shirt!

Lovely work Danny. Dressing please

There's alot goin on in a very small space there (and i'm not talkin about my head) but youv'e managed to make a very complex pattern fit together perfectly, pheasant for the wing is it? or partridge at an outside guess....very well tied

Cheers .

Yeah I am not sure really about that hackle as it was bought as Autumn Brown and in some light looks exactly as sold , if you hold it up to the light and turn it it does have a claret hue about it for sure . On my screen some of the fibers show as Autumn Brown and some as you say come across as more Claret

Spose I swim this and see how it does and offspring from this could easily be all Claret or all Fiery Brown , Proper Autumn Brown blar blar blar etc etc whatever

Anyway at the end of the day was not a serious tie just pricking about really
