Default Hares Ear Wet Fly !

I gave up trying to tie wings a while back . Wingmans SBS convinced me to try again. Looks a little better than most I have tried. I will leave it to the critics !! All comments welcome ...

Very nice MD, you have the tie-in licked I think, Just play around with different wing profiles and see what you come up with.
I like your signature, I used to have that line printed on one of my mugs.

Yeah nice and nice tie in at the front of the wing there Don't like the cut at the rear of the wing though

I see what you mean. I failed to mention that I folded the wing rather than matching two slips. ( Saw this on a DVD !) Is that a proper technique ? Or should I stick with traditional style of wing prep? Maybe I was taking the lazy way!! By the way I appreciate you pointing that out - thats what I was looking for. I think that was what Wingman was referring to also ! (Wing Profiles!)
I started trying to tie wet flies about a year ago and found it to be kind of frustrating (Wings).

Thanks to all you gentlemen !

Yes it is a proper technique and I use folded wings for flies I fish and paired slips for flies I show on here

Traditional winged wets are paired slips but IMHO just aint worth the bother , yes they look very nice but the extra wee bit of faffing about isn't worth it when you can just grab a clump of feather , roll/fold it , plonk it on top and and the fly is good to go , the fish don't care

I guess there are others that feel it is worth it and that is makes a difference and I do think it is a good method to learn , I did , I learned to do it and now don't bother but I am able if I feel the need and on occasion I do ...

I can see from the above fly that your pinch/loop for winging is good so you should have no bother doing so with paired slips should you feel the want/need .....
