Default cdc winged olive

A few olives about yesterday,the hackles a wee bit long but i will chop it if its calm.

Hook-Hayabusa dry fly 16,
Thread-Uni light cahill 8/0,
Tail-Dun hackle fibres,
Body-Hareline dry fly dubbing,grey olive,
Rib-Black thread,
Wing-4 cdc plumes split into 2,
Hackle-Blue dun wound through the wing,over a dubbed thorax,same as the body.

I like it very much The black thread makes a nice ribbing. I'm trying to work out how you've taken the hackle so neatly through the cdc. Neat work.

Cheers guys,what happened at Balado Gary??
I could have done wi then yesterday,a hatch of olives and i flung every olive imitation i had at them,went to try these ones and they were on ma bench Managed 6 wi a bit of perseverance

Was it windy Wullie...? Its difficult to get that same downwind movement as the duns when they are being caught by the wind.More likely to be that than the wrong fly.

Aye Jimmy your bang on,it was getting them to drift right,most of the takes were just as the fly landed,the slightest wee bit of drag resulted in boils and swirls.Later on when i got round to the calm water,lovely rolling rises
