Here are some Shipmans Buzzers i tied for this morning.

They will doDont know where you are but there are a lot of ants on the wing here at the moment.

Nice Shipmans, SS, what do Shipans have t do with ther ants? Can i also suggest one with black seal fur rear, orange seal fur middle and black seal fur frnt, then add 2 red hopper legs down each side to imitate the heather flees

Not a lot really,just a suggestion to have a few in his box,you dont want to be caught without them if they appear.Sorry for giving a suggestion

I like those a lot.

On ants... I had a few in my box unused for years, then on the one and only time I was in the middle of a fall of ants, I really wished I hadn't cleared them out!

Just tied a few up with flytyingguys' suggestion and they look s**t hot. Half Shipmans/half Heather fly. They will take a lot of fish. Might just have to go and try them now!!

Hi Silversedge , i'm in rather autumnal Aberdeen today not seen many flying ants either, and they did do

I did tie a few more flies last night but liked the 'Shipmans only' pic, the red/black mix Shipman was for that purpose as a 'one off' but it didn't compete with Foam Heather Fly.
