Default Wickham's fancy

This was my very first attempt at a wickham's fancy so I was very pleased with the result as it can be a bit tricky, maybe with a more reddy brown hackle it might look more suited rather than the scarlet I've used. Tied on a kamasan B175 size 12.

Very nice fly Mark, variant on the original. I usually tie them up with ginger of furnace cock hackles though never as neat as yours.

Nice neat flies, Mark. Never done one that colour. Strangely it so happens I'm tying some for a forumite at the moment using hen pheasant centre tail for wings and ginger-brown hen hackle with pearl tinsel rib. Can't get them to look as neat as yours, though.

Interesting combination Byron, nice to see a little variation on a good old pattern. This one still has a bit of fine tuning to do on it, not happy with the tail and hackle length for starters and the wing being mallard is too light and would be better with starling...but it was my very first wickham so not bad.
