Default Reliable Hackle Pliers HELP!!

Ok, im fed up with buying new pliers every time i go to a tackle shop. I now own around 10 traditional round ones but hackles keep slipping out. Ive tried using float rubbers on the head but no joy. I bought a new type that hooks the end and that still slips!!!! I have no trouble with large hackles, but my micro Hoffman hackles slip all the time and i have resorted to winding by hand. Any recommendations from the experts??? I saw the C&F ones but wondered if they are any good before i waste more money.
Thanks in advance

No expert here but are you using the very tip of the pliers as this should provide the maximum purchase, I use a cheap as chips spurious model and am quite happy with it .

Many thanks. This forum is amazing, ask a question thats been bugging me for months and get sensible answers immediately! Will give those a go, much cheaper than the candf's. Although i have to admit ive got my eye on the Marco Polo set, but need to justify £400!!!!!
Thanks everyone

Spung steel teardrop shaped never slip not sure if they are stillin shops etc but if you keep your eyes open a pair will turn up.

I'll send you a pic if you do not know what I am on about.

Modern silicone ( float rubber ) tube isnt what you want ..... elastic band rubber would work ... the red oneslike the postman drops ..... carefully superglue a piece on just one side of the ones you have. For now

In the Dorin camp too. Faffed about for far too long before being pointed in the direction of these.

I've never had the C&F ones slip. I use the Tiemco rotary ones and their grip is superb also.
