Default Winged parachute quill

Inspired by Wingman's superb tyings, and following a McPhail template, came up with this.

I like those, very much indeed.
It must take a bit of nerve to wind round a wing - is it starling? I find that if I touch the wing after tying in, it disintigrates

Is the hackle cdc? - it seems to have a few lighter bits in it.

Very nice.

Very nice tying. It looks as though it will sit in the surface, which is ideal IMO.

I'm curious how you avoided the wings splitting -have you used Bub Bond lite to strengthen the wings?

Thanks chaps, the wing is mallard, no bugbond, and the hackle is a piece of genetic saddle scrounged from Arkle many months ago.

To be honest it was tied as an exercise, I'm still a beginner, and a wing post would be less fraught and more practical.

Well spotted though Graham. Re-cycled hook.

A wee bump with a file and you will be right as rain.
If you dont want the fly send it to me and I will show it to some Clyde trout. Pretty sure they will like it.
