Default If at first you don't succeed......

Okay thanks for all the input previously on my attempts at some sea trout flies here

Sea Trout Efforts

Having hopefully taken on board the comments and purchased some sharp scissors, kept the bodies a bit shorter, left more room for the head etc etc here is the results. Both flies tied on Kamasan B180's.

Please let me know if I've progressed, regressed or just got something wrong.

Nice, if you get right into dressing sea trout flies, get some salar salmon singles for £5 for a pack of ten, not cheap but believe me, they give a better, more showy fly, also good to see you took the advice on board and made your flies improved, thats what this sports about a big huge from me

I don't see a lot wrong with those at all mate. Proportions all look there or thereabouts, not overdressed at all, neat and tidy. If I had one small niggle, and it's probably just a personal taste thing, it would be the JC cheeks.... I'd go a little smaller and shorter.

There really good WO and I'd have no worries using those.

I am going to have to disagree with what Rob says *ducks* in reference to the JC cheeks. I think for a ST they should show both colours of the feather, as yours do.

Cheers lads, My first venture into JC so wasn't sure regarding size. Only a budget cape, so has some splits and I'm too tight to pay for two colours on a feather and only show one.
