Default Dry Fly Hooks?

I am looking to tie some hoppers and culs up. I have not been best pleased with the hooks I have used in the past and have had several bend out on me. Can anyone suggest good hooks that are strong and light?

For water holding bigger fish, I tend to use Kamasan B170s. I've only used them on bushy flies so far and am not confident they will float with a lighter dressing, so I'll be keeping an eye on the replies too... Bring it on.

Hayabusa 373 size 10 allround medium weight sproat hook for my hoppers fits the international gauge too..i will use b175 in small sizes for cdc shuttlecocks.
At the end of the day it also depends on what weight outfit your using.
All of my ressie dry fly work is done on a 5wt i have to play the fish out and iv'e had some right fit lumps but no losses to straight hooks.
Hope it helps

Cheers Craig

Sprite perfect Internationals does me for Shipmans and similar ,have a good stock of these as Vince at Sprite is getting on and there does not appear to be any one to take over when he retires

Would not fish these on a 7/8 rod ,then I don't own a trout rod over a 6 wt.

Thanks for the reply guys, I fish with a 7# for every thing I do on large lakes. I have much lighter rods for river fishing perhaps I should try fishing the 10' for a 4# when on the dries?

I am a big fan of Kamasan and Hayabusa so will probably try both these in the sugested sizes and type. Never really got on with the partridge hooks had some issues with them in the past, I have little confidence in them now.

Definately worth going lighter with your rod Lyndsay. Even just going down to a six will reduce your incidence of straightened hooks. I never seem to have this problem, even using B400's for dries.
