maharg will become famous soon enough

I use it a lot for a rib once it has been cut and some of the fibres removed. Should think it will work ok if you can get a narrow enough strip.

I also use it for ribbing, got some in cream, takes permanent marker pens very well, great stuff to colour up. Use as Maharg describes.

I've seen artciles in fly fishing mags that use organza ribbon. Where did your wife buy hers then? Thanks, Byron

There's a couple of ideas on Finesse Flytying - Home I was the first tyer in the U.K. to import organza from John Betts in the U.S. back in the early 1980's & shortly after sourced better grades of the sheet material over here.
Back then "ribbons" weren't available though.

My adult damsel on the Deer Creek - Home page site uses a pearlescent sheet form that's burnt to shape. If anyone wants to try some of the sheet type, send me a stamped s.a.e. The secret of burning it, is to cut it roughly to shape in the jaws of the burner so that you get a 2mm edge to weld evenly all the way around.

Hi Byron, most wool or sewing shops should have the stuff, comes on different colours and widths.
