Very nice. I can't make out what you've used for the wings. Polypro?

The wing is just a few strands of lureflash mop.....probably unimportant from a fishing point of view but we thought it may be worth experimenting with when we noticed that the flash of the natural insects wings were catching our attention one sunny day.Whether or not the fish might see them the same way is another question. It definately doesny put them off taking it though......

The first ones had a teardrop wing cut from pearl sheet, then we tried a double V wing of wide pearl lurex. Both of these proved popular with the trout at Heather fly time but the wings were not very durable.

Nice ones Jimmy. Tied some up myself, thinking of Stocks at the time.
I colour the bottom part of the legs with a black permanent marker pen. Don't know if it makes any difference. Few strands of pearl lurex for wings.

Aye...that would be closer to the natural right enough wobbly. We would probably do just as well with a chunky black hopper to be honest. The trout seem to be obliging enough when the heather fly is on....our version of duffers fortnight I guess....
