Default Hook Identification Help Needed

Hi everyone. Can anyone help identify this barbless hook?

The one shown is a size 12 but I also have flies tied on them in 10's and it is flat forged with a very shallow down turned eye, in turned barbless point and a black nickle finish.

I first thought they were Tiemco 103BL's but when I got a packet of those today I found that even though the shape was right the wire was much finer and the eye turned down at a greater angle. I've looked around the web and can't find anything else that comes close. Any ideas as to which manufacturer makes them?

I can't get over how strong they are for their size and how well they hold fish for a barbless. The flat forging and in turned point helps for sure. This one came off a size 12 hopper tonight that was completely destroyed by landing 16 Rainbows on the same fly. It had no legs left and the body was falling off but it still kept taking fish

I really need to find out who makes them.

I think i was wrong, its a Dohiku - HDD 301, which is the dry version.
MAYBE 100 % UNSURE......

Buzz - Just went onto the Flytying Boutique and I think you hit it spot on the second time - it looks as if its a Dohiku HDD 301 Dry Fly Hook.

Can't quite see if they are flat forged from the photo but the pattern is perfect.

Thanks for helping me out

Its also very similar to a Grip 11011 barbless, but like the Tiemco that also seems to have a slightly more downturned eye and also a slight longer shank. Much stronger than it looks though. I think being so sharp they bury themselves deeper and therefore despite being a light wire, they create a strong hold, at the strongest part of the hook. Well thats my theory anyway!

That's a nice hook but I can recommend you a better one if you like that shape. It has a straight eye and it is forged and slightly reversed. It's the Preston PR27.

Richard, those are v similar I think to Kamasan B911s (wide gape), which I use for grayling nymphs and some other patterns, but they're both short shank patterns so depends what the OP is after. I use them both for coarse fishing too, excellent for trotting, although ideally I prefer the spade end version for that. The sizing gets a bit meaningless with some of these variations - eg the Preston (if I'm thinking of the right ones) and Kamasan wide gape 16, is similar gape to a standard 14 etc.
