Default Sharpening scissors

Any ideas, anybody?

I've tried cutting kitchen foil and cutting them on glass but neither seems to work.

You need a knife/scizzors sharpner or sharpning/wet stone. Grinder will also work (not coffee grinder).

Would have thought that nail scissors etc would be a bit small for that kind of sharpening.

Good idea. Thanks.
Now all I have to do is to get down to the DIY shop without her remembering the dripping bathroom tap.

Two thoughts here Bill. If these are for very fine work, let someone who does this for a living do the job. If the scissors are just for general Chop-Chop work about anything will work.

Just my .02 cents.

If they're non-serrated scissors & you want them sharpened & re-set properly, I'll send you details of a surgical instrument maker who does them. My scissors are sharp enough at the very tips to take out individual fibres from a strand of peacock herl with ease.

Thanks arkle but they are not worth it. Up to now I've used Boots nail scissors or something similar and simply replaced them and used the old ones for wire etc.

I'm going to get a proper pair soon but hate to throw stuff away, so thought that I might sharpen up the old scissors then take them down to the charity shop.
