Default Black & Red Hobbler

Here's a handy pattern for this time of year... A wee variant on George Barron's 'Hobbler' style of dabbler. Knocked a few of these up on 12's for last weeks Skye trip and nobbled a few wee browns on the hill lochs. Should be handy for a vague heather fly pattern when conditions aren't really suiting a dry imitation.
Use hen for the body hackle to allow it to get down, or palmer it with cock to fish high and dry...ish.

Hook: B175 10 or 12
Tag: Glo-Brite No.3
Rib: Silver wire
Body: 'Ant Black' seals fur
Body Hackle: Furnace hen or cock
'Wing': Bronze Mallard
Legs: Knotted natural pheasant tail
Thread: Black

It is actually two seperate pics of the same fly, Mark. Reduce the size of the rear one......
