Default Hard as nails

I currently have 3 half filled bottles with slightly thick vaarnish in each.
Was wondering if there is a solvent that wont make it go cloudy?

Have you tried acetone Graham much better than nail varnish thinners.

Fishfinger has it right. If you use a different amount in each you can have varied viscosity which is very useful.

Definitely use Acetone 'household solvent', cheap as chips from boots (I think under £2) as a 50ml bottle, squirt a bit in with a syringe (ask for one of those too) until you get the desired thickness. Doesn't cloud at all and a bottle lasts ages.

Interestingly this very question typed into Google is how I first found this forum, and that's how I discovered that Acetone was the solution!

'Lureflash' 'Feather Weld' Thinners does the bizz and does not make the varnish go cloudy. Been using it for years.

It seems this question comes up very often, maybe it ought to be "pinned"

Nail varnish removers have, amongst other things, "conditioning oils" which are what makes varnish go cloudy. There are various "thinners" one can use, but acetone is cheap, & probably the easiest available & it works a treat on un-clouded varnish.

Basically, most of the thinners one buys with various "names" on them are 99% of the time acetone, with a much higher price label.
