Default Total Flyfisher Bloodworm Pattern

Would anyone have a copy of the Feb 2011 issue of Total Flyfishing?

I am trying to track down a scan of the Bloodworm article on Page 26 and 27 where they provide a step by step on a beadheaded pattern with what looks like a flexi floss rib and a pearl or mirage tinsel band running down its back. Its on a curved red grub hook.

Does anyone have the Feb 2011 issue?

Kind Regards
Steve (OT)

I've got it but can't scan at the moment.

If nobody comes up with a scan, pm me and I'll type it out.

I have tried but there is nothing there.

Other than the SBS which would be very useful for how the tinsel is fixed and ribbed I was interested in the article on how it fishes as a pattern.

My main confusion is that most buzzer style pattern will sink to depth anyway without any weight added so why have the brass bead at the head of this bloodworm pattern.....is it just to get it down to depth fast?

I don't see it as a pattern that would be retrieved (spring, summer or winter) so don't see why it needs the bead to keep it down at depth (like you would need if retrieving it).

Regards
Steve

It's probably intended to be fished under a bung
The bead helps to cock the float. Split shot and bait all in one
A very "effective" method I believe

It's fished by casting it out on a sinking line and leaving it on the bottom as the trout will pick it up from there , your line will then start to move away when the fish picked it up , don't strike just gently lift the rod to set the hook .
Seen it done one or twice with devastating effect 10 + fish in an hour or so .
You can inch it in very slowly as well .
