Default CDC "Types"

I'm becoming increasingly interested in the uses of CDC and I vaguely recall reading somewhere instructions for tying a fly which had instructions like "take a Type 3 cdc feather......"
Are cdc feathers divided into to types and do they have different uses?

Here you go CDC types article. You'll have to enlarge the pages to see them properly, I was using it the other night to get some info on feathers for the IOBO fly.

There is no doubt that flies that incorporate cdc catch fish but after 2 or 3 fish caught on one fly i have found that the fly has to be changed so the jury is still out on useing cdc feathers!!!!

Simply find a routine that suits. After each fish (or more frequently depending on how good the fishing is) give the wing a dry wth an amadou pad and a brush with 'Frog's Fanny' and you're back fishing again.
