Default There's some moose loose aboot this hoose

.....quite alot of it actually. Just found a packet of moose mane I havn't yet used so decided to try a few experiments with it, alot thicker than deerhair this stuff so requires abit more effort to tie down. Sorry about the lack of variety in hooks but waiting for a new shipment. All tied on size 14's.

Thanks ST Bigphil and darwin

Just a bit of experimenting darwin, the body would probably benefit from a coat of varnish to give it some strength, think I'll definitely give the dryfly a whizz when the rivers cleared up, which will take a few days with all this rain.

Is it a buoyant fibre like deerhair?

Cheers the beginner

Shpeil I know moose is very good for making tails for dryflies so I assume it has good floatation although I havn't tried fishing any myself yet, but we will see.
