The trout at my club loch have been having a bean feast on sedges, in the evening, for the last few weeks.
The place has been heaving with rising trout but my catches have not been that great. Getting around 5 or 6 fish for the couple hours of the rise, but the amount of feeding would lead you to expect a lot more.
Static and skittered sedgehogs have taken a few and all manner of sedge pupa, a fish here and there.
The overall feeling I have had is that the presentation is lacking. After a discussion with my Edinburgh guru, cheers Jimmy, he suggested an emerging pattern in the manner of a bubble sedge.
So I have rattled up this pattern to see if it will work. A bit rough but it is a working prototype.
Long leader, pull the fly under, and let it pop back to the surface with the aid of the CDC.
What do you reckon, I think it will work a treat
