Default Rift

No fly, no beautiful pics( unfortunately), just a question.

Can someone please shed any light on the ongoing not so subtle remarks from a certain writer who wouldn't have a rainbow from Tesco on his shopping list to a man from up north who likes his nymphs drifting back towards him and close to nature (turns out I ain't to subtle myself)

If its not a crack at his dvds in this month article its his use of spiderweb or tying realistic flies or his upstream methods. Is there something we are all missing or is it that the man who loves to tell us who he knows and what he owns cant let a sleeping dog lie.

I know neither man so if my opinion seems biased towards one that is not my intention it's just very annoying to read or try to read ( I find his style awful) one of his efforts only for him to work it back some way to have a dig at the other man.

Tell me if I'm over reacting by all means but I can't be the only one out there getting annoyed by this.

I take it these people write for angling magazines, which thankfully, I no longer purchase.

A man who will not buy rainbow trout fro Tesco, but will happily accept a fee for writing in a magazine which indirectly promotes fish farms by writing about stocked fisheries?

Doesn't add up, does it now? No, it's plain daft.

That's not really what I'm getting at. You would have to be a regular reader of the monthly mags to understand what I'm talkin booot.

I know that's not what you were getting it, but I was just pointing out the level of hypocrisy involved which is one of the reasons I don't buy the magazines any more.

So those who know who you're on about for certain are most likely in your mindset, or they wouldn't understand who you're talking about; self fuelling cyclical debate to follow.

You have sparked my curiosity though, just don't buy magazines, I'll sit back and try to understand what the thread is really about .

So if we haven't noticed this ''rift'' are we just meant to buy the mags to find out.
How about just growing a set and naming them instead of starting up a thread with only a partial amount of information.
