Default Young's Claret bumble

Not a fly I have ever fished before and I may have made the hackle a little too long but I do think it will bring a response so weather permitting will be giving it a try at the weekend. Its one of those flies that looks like it would be also good for dapping not that I have ever tried it.

Nice looking beast. Reminds me of the "skating" fly that Davie posed on youTube. have no idea how to use/fish it.

cast it into a wind lane and just let it skate about / or 6 inch pulls every few seconds for a nice wake behind it

you seem to have forgotten the tail

The hackle is maybe a fraction too long, but then it's horses for courses. With a wave on it will be fine, so for the weekend you should be right!

I'm assuming the dressing doesn't call for a tail, but withough one it doesn't seem to balance very well to me, not sure that trout are bothered about visual balance though

No tail Steve and with the way it will sit on the water I dont think it really needs one, i may have a play around with it and crucify a classic dressing though The hackle should really be about 1 1/2 time the hook gape but what the hell.
