Here's a pattern that I've completely glossed over so far and never tied, a "blue monkey" I spotted it while thumbing through my toilet copy of flies of Scotland (sorry Stan, but it gets a decent read on the bog!!!). I've subbed rabbit underfur for the blue monkey and had to use grizzle for the throat hackle 'cos I don't have any grey hen. I think its a very pretty looking fly.

Hook: Wet fly #10 - #14
Thread: Black
Tail: Teal fibres
Rib: Fine silver wire or silver oval tinsel
Body (rear third): Yellow floss (I used yellow UTC thread)
Body (Front): Dark rabbit with lots of grey underfur
Hackle: Grey hen (I used grizzle)
Wing: Duck
Cheeks: Jungle Cock
