Default Thrice spiders

Tied some spiders useing bronze mallard for a change, you don't quite get the 'umbrella effect' that you get with the hackles (although with a heavier dubbed thorax you could achieve it I'm sure) but still not too bad I suppose, middle ones tied with a furnace hackle and a sulphur orange hotspot for number 3.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome

Really nice wee beasties. If you really feel the hackle profile would give you more confidence then simply run your fingers up the shank and force the hackle back over the eye, it will lose it's stiff backwards lying shape and will sit out more pronounced. Does it matter in the water though? I wouldn't hesitate in using them, nicely tied.

Fine looking spiders. I especially like the one with the furnace hackle.

Thanks darwin, not sure as of yet, was hoping to get out tonight but a bit behind on a few chores....damn it looks pretty similar to partridge though so maybe a similar effect.

Thanks wokaway, the hooks are FTB103's these are size 12's so would be good for stillwaters perhaps, for rivers I usually use 14's and 16's.
