Default Stimulator

Hi Guys

This is my first attempt at this pattern, i was going to tie it on a long shank as i dont have any of the right hooks ended up tying it on a size 12 Knapek pupa hook !

Not my normal fly , but i enjoyed tying it reckon the right hook would help it look "right" ?

How do these patterns work on Scottish rivers ?

Lovely fly there, a bit big maybe for our rivers but definitely in the lochs.

looks a nice tye to me, on the rivers in smaller sizes the fish take them as sedge.. other than that
if something like that flew by i'd be gone!

Very nice indeed! Out West we usually tie them on 3X curved shank dry fly hooks and in 14, 16 and 18s. Great rough water flies. Good as a caddis/sedge or in the yellow especially as a hopper attractor on the bend pool close to the grassy bank.

The stimi is a great searching pattern, often tied large. I find a smaller version works better.
Englander you did fine with that as the other photo shows
