Dabblers eh?

Generally;

Hook: Typical wet fly, B175 or similar
Tail: Pheasant tail fibres (about 6) some people use bronze mallard but they're just showing off. French partridge can look cool too.
Rib: Wire, colour of your choice
Body: Your choice of seals fur, other furry stuff, or tinsel
Body Hackle: Cock hackle, colour to compliment body
Shoulder Hackle (optional): Hen hackle, longer than body hackle, colour to compliment body
Cloak / wing: Bronze mallard
Cheeks (optional): Biots or jungle cock

For some colour combinations have a look through here;
The Classics: Dabbler
