Default Dubbing needle

I broke the one that came with the tying kit and foolishly bought a Veniards replacement, which would be fine for tying tarpon flies, but it's useless to me.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Mike

Adapt the broken one if you can. I managed to withdraw a broken needle from handle and replaced it with a sewing machine needle which I use for splitting thread. Good ole Arraldite.

Get a variety pack of sewing needles, which will usually have a whole range of sizes.

Select the one you like and jam the blunt end into a wine cork.

Mike, it's not that difficult to make/replace the needle. I'll show you how when you come round. I have a selection of different sizes & types of needle, most often made by using small "pin-chucks" that are easily found on the net, I've tried many other different types, but find these comfortable & the balance is perfect. The last set of 4 different sizes I got was just over a £5'er + p & p.
