Default Couple Smallmouth Bass flies

Well it's bass time out here in central Canada and I pulled out the size 2 and 2/0 hooks to do some bass streamers and poppers! These are fun to tie and a nice break for tying tedious buzzers, dries, and leech patterns!

For those who haven't caught a bass, they're strong fighters and aggressively take a fly. Most streamers should be a minimum of 3-5 inches in length to trigger them to strike. They'll hit buzzers and leech patterns but I like to get under their skin. Topwater fishing for bass is probably some of the most fun you can have in freshwater with a fly rod. I use hand-carved balsa poppers and bass just explode on them.

Here's a few recent ties.

Hi Nick. I agree with you. I love catching bass on fly large or smallmouth and had loads of fun on Streamers, Zonkers and Rooster tails last summer and always find that if you ever get bored of trout fishing bass fishing will keep an anglers interest.

Nice I like these
Is the third pic a twin fly setup
Eg one fastened behind the other on a 6-8 inch leader
If not it should be even a 12" leader would work great
First fly attracts fish and they hit the back one
I've used this method for pike with 20lb floro leader
Joining the flys
Do me a favour and try it for the bass I would be very interested to know if it works as well
Regards
Toxic
