Default Would you like something with that cowpat sir/

This is my version of Hanna's bluebottle fly, I havn't put the blue tying silk rib in as on the original and the wings i'd prefer slightly smaller, but I think there's room for more experimentation with sparkle yarn etc for the wings but the original calls for blue dun hackle tips as I've used here.

Lovely fly Mark,could you tie that on a b170?

ps.I tied up some copys of a Peter Ross variant you posted a while back,and have had some nice sea trout on them thank you

Hi carpflier, thanks, thats an FTB103, you can get them from phil at fly tying boutique, very nice hooks.

Nice one Duncan, must admit i havn't tried the peter's this year yet but now the seatrout are on the move again i better get them on. Havn't used B170's before usually B175's, think the B170's have a slightly longer shank, don't see why they couldn't be tied on them in the right proportions they'd look ok I think.

b170's a light wire version of the b175.. so yes mate

With a couple of dyed black knotted PT fibres for the legs i think would be a nice touch, but I aint got any of those....yet

Good luck rapidratter, I used black chenille for the body (as in original pattern) and clipped it underneath but didin't clip it on top, head is black hare and pearsalls blue 7 tying silk or any bright blue thread will do

spot on mate
not as nice but try gently notted herl or some long unusable hackles trimmed
close to the stem..
