Default Floating damsel ....pattern?

Does anyone have a good pattern for a surface/floating damsel?
Hoping to tie some over next few days.

Thanks, Peter

Thanks for that, had a look, seems a bit complicated for my simple skills: I have tied a few up with a strip of daddy body and foam along the back, will take them out in a couple of days and see how they work. Hopefully best pattern will be apparent. Will then tie up more, and report if successful

Regards Peter

There is a floating damsel pattern in April's addition of Total Flyfisher, dressing goes like this

Hook-long shank lure size 10
Thread-white 6/0
Tail-silver flash under olive marabou
Body-Chartreuse chenille
Head-Olive deer hair ( swept back and clipped muddler style )

Why not invent your own using foam for flotation or a bit of cdc and marabou for the tail for extra movement?

There are foam patterns out there Byron like allanw just posted, but how do you propose to use cdc if the fly is pulled back across the suface?.Just asking mate, maybe you know something i don't?

Neil-do you HAVE to strip the fly back across the surface? Would have thought fishing it static on or just under the surface film would be just as productive.!! Thought only lures or flies tied to create a wake were used for stripping back. Then again what do I know?

Didn't mean strip them back like lures Byron.Damsels when ready to hatch out into adults migrate towards the shore (hence the wiggle action best imitated by marabou ) then crawl up reed stems to hatch into adults. So I'm not sure if static ones would work that's all
